
‘I’m rather confident I’m fired,’ software program developer testifies Correia did not pay workers of startup for months

BOSTON (WPRI) – Software developer Joshua Harding took issue with one of then-candidate for mayor Jasiel Correia’s marketing campaign platforms.
Correia, then just 23 several years old, was searching for to develop into the youngest mayor in Tumble River’s history and touted his modest business qualifications. At the time Harding was operating for Correia’s nascent SnoOwl startup – an app built to enable diners link with eating places – and hadn’t been compensated in months.
So Harding shot an email to Correia, locating it ironic that Correia was touting his compact business acumen, “yet you have a smaller business enterprise suitable beneath your nose that is suffering.”
At that issue, in November 2015, Harding testified that expenses central to maintaining the app up and managing were being heading unpaid and the handful of SnoOwl staff members final noticed compensation back in July.
Harding afterwards emailed a single of SnoOwl’s investors – retired New Bedford businessman Mark Eisenberg – expressing problem about the problem.
“I do not imagine it is way too substantially to talk to when we will be paid,” Harding wrote in a November 2015 electronic mail. “Especially given that we have been waiting for a number of months with no remedy.”
Harding despatched an additional e-mail producing “I sent this to Jasiel on Thursday, he hasn’t bothered to reply. I’m rather absolutely sure I’m fired… but since I’m not staying paid there is not a great deal big difference!”
Harding testified he did not listen to again from Correia, but did get a call from SnoOwl legal professional Nick Bernier who he explained informed him he “shouldn’t have sent the electronic mail and Jasiel is indignant.”
